This webpage serves as a central information hub for the FA community. The Gehr Family and the Soirée Planning Team envision the Soirée as both a community-building event and a fundraiser. We’ll keep this page updated with all key information for the FA Community. Bookmark it and check back often!
Travel Grant
So that FAers and FA families can attend the Cure FA Soirée without as much of the financial burden of a trip, we’ve created the Cure FA Soirée Travel Grant Program! Go to travelgrant.curefasoiree.org to learn more and apply (application opens December 1st, 2025). New this year is a quick application for folks who have attended the Cure FA Soirée before and who will request $250 or less. We’re aware that ticket and hotel prices are going up, and we want to keep costs from becoming a barrier to the FA community.
Same Venue as 2025
The 2026 Soirée will be held at the Omni Oklahoma City (100 Oklahoma City Blvd, OKC, OK 73109). We have secured a group rate of $229/night available at hotel.curefasoiree.org. While we know this rate is steep (see new Travel Grant info above), the Omni is the best-equipped venue in Oklahoma for our growing Soirée and it has many more accessible rooms!
Get Your Tickets
The Soirée is a fundraiser for the Friedreich’s Ataxia Research Alliance (FARA); we raised over $590k in 2025, and our goal in 2026 is $600k! Purchase tickets ($150 each) at give.curefasoiree.org. All funds raised (up to $300k) are matched by an anonymous donor, doubling the impact of your support! If cost is a barrier and you’d like to use sponsored tickets, contact Liz Gehr.
FA Community Activities
FARA will host a research reception at the Omni on Saturday, June 13th and the Gehr family will host a brunch for the FA community, out-of-town-ers, and the Soirée Planning Team on Sunday, June 14th. Stay tuned for info about other community activities that will be planned on Friday, June 12th!
Virtual Participation & Livestream
If you can’t join us in person, you can still engage with the Soirée and the FA Community in Oklahoma! The event will be livestreamed at live.curefasoiree.org; view previous Soirée videos at youtube.com/curefasoiree.
