This webpage serves as a central information hub for the FA community. The Gehr Family and the Soirée Planning Team envision the Soirée as both a community-building event and a fundraiser. We’ll keep this page updated with all key information for the FA Community. Bookmark it and check back often!
FA Community Activities
On Friday, June 12th, FAers and their families will have lunch at Leadership Square (Food Court), visit the Memorial Museum in OKC (memorialmuseum.com), and then join everyone for dinner at the Hilton Garden Inn in Bricktown! FARA will host a research reception at the Omni on Saturday, June 13th and the Gehr family will host a brunch for the FA community, out-of-town-ers, and the Soirée Planning Team at the Omni on Sunday, June 14th. Get your hotel room
The 2026 Soirée will be held at the Omni Oklahoma City (100 Oklahoma City Blvd, OKC, OK 73109). Our original room block at the Omni is full/almost full, so we’ve established an alternate block at the nearby Hampton Inn. Information about these blocks and other hotels in the area is at hotel.curefasoiree.org. Hotels downtown are expensive, but the Omni is the best-equipped venue in Oklahoma for our growing Soirée and has many more accessible rooms!
All of the hotels we have suggested are close to the free, wheelchair-accessible Oklahoma City streetcar, which stops across the street from the Omni. The Streetcar also stops at the OKC National Memorial Museum and many other Downtown OKC sites.

Get Your Tickets
The Soirée is a fundraiser for the Friedreich’s Ataxia Research Alliance (FARA); we raised over $590k in 2025, and our goal in 2026 is $600k! Purchase tickets ($150 each) at give.curefasoiree.org. All funds raised (up to $300k) are matched by anonymous donors, doubling the impact of your support! If cost is a barrier and you’d like to use sponsored tickets, contact Liz Gehr.
Virtual Participation & Livestream
If you can’t join us in person, you can still engage with the Soirée and the FA Community in Oklahoma! The event will be livestreamed at live.curefasoiree.org; view previous Soirée videos at youtube.com/curefasoiree.
